My 110 SW came with the tart's handbag extra known as the 'black pack'. I've had to have a load of rust work done on the corner and rear tub cappings, so seemed a good opportunity to double down by having the cappings match the roof.
I'm chuffed with how it looks. Ties in with the roof, wheel arches and recently fitted security hinges nicely. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Hi, curious where you had the work done? I'm near Berwick-upon-Tweed and needing to sort out some rust/paint issues on my defender, so I'm looking for any recommendations. thank you!

DPG Defenders in Pickering did the mechanicals and preparation etc. They used another company nearby for the paintwork.

Nice. Are the cappings steel?

I think they're just the regular type, but painted properly - both sides!
They also painted the side tubs underneath the cappings rather than LR style of leaving unfinished primer. |

Lovely. I really like the offset window trimmings/ cappings.
A company called Helderburg often leave the galv look and it looks great against a lot of their cars. Some BFG all terrains will really tie it in nicely. perhaps on the larger side too, 275's maybe? 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

I came very close to cancelling the contrasting tub cappings, just to keep the light surround as contrast. Dunstan at DPG looked very dubious when I first asked. Even he's pleased with how they look.
I like my quiet tyres! I need 4wd more for snow than mud, so good for that too. I do need to clean up some of the checkerplate - it's letting down the rest of the vehicle. |

Certainly, horses for courses.
I had my own checker plating powder coated almost 2 years ago now and still looks the same as when I had it done. 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |
