2008, 2.4 Puma.
The wife informed that that the Puma was making a strange noise on start up. "Like what?" I asked. Like Frank Sinatra says "Regrets I've had a few etc. etc" and I immediately regretted asking about the noise. As my daughter ,who has special needs, was on with my wife when the noise occured my wife consulted her. Then the performance began. I sat watching and listening to the two of them describing and imitating the noise. I was wondering whether to consult a psychiatrist or a mechanic. As the Puma was due an oil/filter change I decided to consult a mechanic and get the oil/filter done along with the investigation into the noise. I figured that a psychiatrist was unlikely to have a car lift in his office. Anyway I got the Puma back today. The noise turned out to be a seized pulley on the alternator so this was changed. Along with the oil/filter change he also removed the washer motor and flushed it out as the washer bottle had some dirt in it. This was also removed and cleaned. And the cost? Well no idea yet as it has not been worked out. Why did you ask the mechanic to fix it?
I thought you would "do it My Way" ! |
