2027 Baby Defender
According to CEO Adrien Mardell it will arrive in 2027 on the EV only EMA platform, built at the new UK factory, likely to be called Defender Sport

Just an Autocar image so don’t expect it to be like this though they have said it will be boxy.

Proportions look a bit off - but I am sure that will (would?) change. I like the EV thing, though.
When I read the title of the thread I was thinking: I hope they don't call it a Defender Sport... Laughing

Yep, most likely true.

They'll sell loads of them. Hopefully it will be a fair bit cheaper than the £51,000 start price of the current model.

That’s just a photoshop image, so will be different on the production model. Not convinced on the Defender Sport name, Defender 80 has also been hinted at.

Would definitely be on my wish list. So I can leave my Def 110 in the garage and drive a smaller EV version daily.

'Sport' fits in with the .....

Range Rover spawning the Range Rover Sport

Discovery spawning the Discovery Sport (although it was a Freelander 2)

New Defender spawning the Defender Sport.

Freelander 1 did come in a 'Pick-Up' variant, but only for the Italian Marine Market.

Land Rover should get back to Basics and focus on core vehicles...

Range Rover
Range Rover Sport
Discovery (currently called Defender)
Defender - something similar to Grenadier but smaller and cheaper

....and get rid of all the nonsense vehicles - Velar, current Discovery Sport, Evoke etc

How true. But I'm afraid LR looks at the urban tarmac users not the the true 4x4 drivers, the market is too small.

I like the new Defender really a lot but my first thought when I saw the first pictures: yes that should have been the Disco 5.
Grenadier = Defender but LR did let slip that occasion too. As the New Defender really sells a lot they take the money from everyone.
