There’s plenty of threads on this subject and it comes down to what you want to spend? and what you want to do with it. If you tow a lot it might be different.

Bilstein, Fox, Old Man Emu and Alive seems to be the favourites on here. Of course you can go to air suspension etc too.

Yeah it really depend on what you want to do with and what is 'wrong' with the current setup. Plus how much you want to spend.

Standard suspension is a good mix and blend of ride, handling and hauling ability. If you want to 'improve' any one aspect, it normally comes at the detriment of something else. Or will cost a lot more.

Therefore without knowing any details, just go OEM or pattern to refresh as per standard.

as other have said, have a look at the threads on here, and also have a clear idea of what you are trying to achieve.

First thing to do is replace all of your bushes, just this alone can make a huge difference.

Plusher ride then progressive springs and good quality shocks with isolators will help, go speak to people like Alive Tuning, price wise circa £2.5 - £3k

Sportier ride, then look at firmer shortened springs, firmer shocks and uprated anti roll bars, Bowler do a kit but so do people like Alive, price wise circa £2.5 - £3k

Air suspension, then people like Tweaked or a reputable fitter of VB-4C air suspension will sort you out for north of £6k

To go off road, eek what a minefield that is, but generally go speak to Gwyn Lewis

Excluding Air Ride, the biggest single cost and in my opinion the thing that makes the most difference are the shocks, these can range from a few hundred pounds for a set, up to a few thousand pounds for a set of fully adjustable Fox 2.0 Performance road shocks. Obviously off road costs go even higher

Out of interest, is there anything wrong with the existing suspension?

I have tried many flavors and at the end suspension with genuine parts is more than good. LR also offers HD springs if you need to carry heavy loads. Puma 110" SW

The springs that are on it are blue and look far to heavy for my liking I would like to put it back quite standard handling without a bright yellow setup how much are LR ones

i replaced mine with new take off genuine correct springs for my 110 and fox shocks which has totally transformed the ride, same stance but worlds apart from it was.
i also fitted air lifters to help when fully laden which also work extremely well. 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I would speak to Martin at Alive. really helpful and knowledgeable. Let him know what you do with the defender and he will advise accordingly.

I have a pair of brand new LR 110 rear springs (removed from new 110 SW) If you are interested in them give me a shout. I bought them and then went a different direction so just sitting taking up space.
