United Kingdom 2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 SVX Soft Top Santorini Black
Unimogs
After the recent sale of my Defender 50th I'm on the lookout for another project in particular a Unimog would be good.
However I've never even sat in one before so I've no idea what common faults to look for.

I quite like one on the bay item no:-110773008241 and would like some expert advice what to look for and ask the seller also how would I go about reregistering it to use on the roads ie change the taxation class from agricultural to lgv?

I'm pretty hands on and no stranger to major faults to walk away from. But I'm sure these have their little expensive quirks (like Land Rovers) you only find with experience.

Better check your licence situation first. I do not think the standard car licence will cover you for a Unimog. They go from 4.5 GVW to 5.8GVW.There is a high capacity 12.5 GVW version too. Very robust vehicle but parts are very expensive, and there is a very high and costly servicing regime.Even second hand they are not cheap. Had a hankering after one myself but would not be as practical as the Defender as a family car! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Helpful link greeny Thumbs Up

Spudfan licence won't be an issue I have a C+E (old class 1). Servicing I'll do myself, parts price is a worry that's mainly why I need to know of any daft costly niggles beforehand.

I'll totally agree they're nowhere as near practical as the Defender but I fancy another boys toy Whistle Formerly mao99999

Germany 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Baltic Blue
I've seen one around Munich in camouflage paint and done out as a camper - so unbelievably cool!!! Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
