I don’t have a tow bar, and all the spare wheel mounted options don’t look all that robust. Has anyone seen one that is, or is there another option I’m missing?

Cheers

You need a tow bar really.

Otherwise you can fit the bike into the back but you'll have to take off both wheels, and if you can remove or lower the saddle that helps as well.

if you have 2 bikes and a station wagon

I take off the pedals to stop them damaging anything, take out the front wheels and slot the rear wheels in between the seats and the cubby box, I can then shut the rear door. works a treat DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Robust enough for what? It only has to carry a push bike, not a 1200cc motorbike Whistle

My spare wheel carrier works really well and is very robust. Carriers two gravel bikes securely no problem. Thumbs Up Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.
