Forthcoming UK spec heritage - air con yes or no poll.
I'm just curious about how many of us on here have an order in and whether aircon would be in demand.

I find the AC most use at keeping the vehicle dry all winter rather than cool in summer

Same here, can live without AC but there are other options I would have liked to have ordered.

Air con is one of the few options which is difficult to do you yourself and probably the only option that is cheaper as a factory fit than diy.

I was out and about in the wife's 90 in the pouring rain last sunday and experimented without air con - needless to say, the condensation was murder.

I know the heritage is a special edition but it is rather galling that air con is an option on any other defender. If enough buyers show demand there is a stronger argument and surely some more profit for land rover offering it.

I just can't understand why it's not included. The Heritage is a ripper vehicle, it was almost an instantaneous sellout, so IMHO adding the cost A/C would not have been an issue, except that it would've improved the vehicle, and added a feature required by the majority of buyers.
And I can understand how annoyed you UK buyers must be, it's not like it can't be fitted to the Heritage for some build reason etc, because It's fitted to the Aussie ones.
Surely someone has a contact with a MAJOR dealer who may get a hearing in JLR?

Got a 110 heritage coming (hopefully.!), i'd definately order a/c too , can't see them changing their mind , although you'd think they would want the extra profit they would make on 400 a/c units (unless they don't make any money on a/c ?)
Also can't believe they're not numbering them either (nothing better than shining a little plaque on a Sunday morning) but hoping to keep mine til I die so don't suppose it really matters that much, unless I move to Australia
I think more worrying to me from previous defenders I've had is trying to stop it getting stolen ..

I would have a/c instantly! Just NUTS that a £30k vehicle built in 2015 does not have it fitted as standard, especially it IS being fitted for other markets! I would gladly pay for it as an option!

It seems that not many on here have ordered one given the lack of replies to the various Heritage posts. I do think that if the vast majority of peeps who had ordered, all requested a/c, then perhaps JLR would fit is as a 'cost' option...?

Having a build plaque would have been really nice. A real 'nod' to not only the 'heritage' of the 'Heritage', but also something that would simply be a 'nice touch'. I used to own Lotus... they do this all the time on their 'limited' editions and it really does make the car feel a bit more special... EASY to do as well! Come on JLR!!! Question

I am not worried about it being nicked... too hard to hide really... one good thing about the colour! It would be a very interesting insurance claim however... how would you 'replace' it! YOLO... You Only Live Once...

I live in Scotland. A/C gets used so infrequently (by me anyway) that it'll fail thru lack of use in a few years.

On my cars I need to remember to give it a quick cycle every month to keep it working. In my Disco2 it failed after a few years, and I didn't bother fixing it, and I didn't miss it.

Not on my Defender. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Land Rover miss read this one, though they will sell every heritage they built. A/C is needed in the UK's wet climate to keep it dry inside and improve visibility. I wanted a heritage HT but was unwilling to pay the asking price without A/C and couldn't believe it wasn't an option. No doubt I'll regret my decision not to buy heritage in the future, but this was one of my final reasons why I have given up on Land Rover as they have given up on their core rural customer and I have moved on to a foreign double cab pick up as my main transport. I now have a Series Land Rover to serve the Land Rover itch but after 25 years of Land Rover being my main vehicle and buying 9 of them from new, unless the new defender is a no nonsense rural working vehicle, I'm unlikely to purchase another new Land Rover.
