My light stays on for 3 seconds -assume there is a timer module mounted somewhere? Can anyone shed light on this for me?
Thanks, Tom |

I assume you are talking about front screen? mine stays on for about 5 minutes, back one will stay on until it's switched off

Thanks for the wiring diagram... I assume this is all under the drivers seat, will take a look. I assume the timer has failed completely. Will post the results.

The timer relay (as well as the main screen relay) are under the RH seat.
The timer relay will be deactivated if you press the switch whilst the screen is heating, or if you switch off the engine. Assuming that neither of these is happening, a short ON cycle probably indicates either a defective timer or a loose connection. |

Relay is clicking away quite happily. Have removed timer and can't read continuity between any of the pins. I assume it's duff?

The timer relay is all-electronic inside (not a conventional relay in any sense of the word) and I suspect that the only easy way to test it is to swap with a known working one.

. Don't know anyone with one and the cheapest I can see is about 70 quid! I'll look for a non LR timing relay.

I think Vehicle Wiring Products sells a range of pin-compatible timer relays at sensible prices. I bought one from there for use with my heated mirror upgrade.
