Clock out if true
Hi folks, my clock hour needle seems to be out of whack, it sits between the hours when the minute hand is at the 12 o’clock… what, if anything can I do?? @steve_overland on Insta.

It is unlikely that it is worth doing anything to repair the problem. I suspect it would be a destructive process to get to the hour hand and correct its position.

Three things then that you could do: 1) Live with it. 2) Replace with a like for like gauge. 3) Replace with a clock on another gauge such as the Check Temp 2.

I went the latter number 3 route and fitted a tachometer in the place of the dash clock.

Can't see option 1 working for Steve.

I have a spare one here Steve, exactly the same as yours , you could have a matching pair! Cheers

If you turn it upside down, it should be correct again?

Texas, I have a strange issue with my clock, six months correct, then six months an hour different, then six months later it fixes itself….. Whistle

It’s a feature, I can live with it…. Rolling with laughter

Strangely, and annoying for you, but the original dashboard clock in my 1994 300tdi is incredibly accurate and the fingers point to exactly where they should. The only time it ever needs altering is if I have had the battery off or twice a year for the clocks changing.
