[For Sale] 2013 Defender 90 Hard Top
We're reluctantly selling our Keswick Green 90 as we now have a new Defender and it seems silly to have both.

We bought it in August 2022. Two previous owners. Only 51,500 miles.

It's a great example of an "untouched" Defender. No modifications, just understated and classic.
Generally very good condition with a minor dent on the rear.

£23,500 (no VAT). Please message me if you'd like any more information or photos. We're based near Leighton Buzzard, Bedforshire.

I think I’m in love. That is the nicest, most understated 90 I have seen. Absolutely perfect 🤩 2008 2.4 110 Utility XS.

Silly question and perhaps it's obvious... although there's no such thing as a silly question, only silly answers!

When one reads, as in this post: "£27,500 (no VAT)" what does that exactly imply to an ordinary schmo like me with no business, VAT registration etc?

Do I have to somehow pay VAT on top of this, or has the VAT already been paid?

Peter

it simply means that its being sold by a non VAT registered person (whether private or small business) and as such VAT can not be applied or reclaimed on the sale........ the price you see is the price you pay

if it belonged to a VAT registered entity then you would then add +20% VAT to the purchase price which is then paid to HMRC by the seller

A lot of hard tops are commercial vehicles so sold by companies to companies and so can be advertised as the cheaper minus-VAT price.

Ours is just a standard sale, so there's no VAT to charge and therefore no VAT to reclaim by the buyer.

£23,500 is a really fair price for a nice low mileage TDCi Hardtop. Being the Hardtop it qualifies for the cheaper road tax and rear seats can be fitted if you want.

But be sure to tell your insurance if you do.

interestingly i was thinking it was alot for a base model, but as above that in itself has some appeal. Cheers
