So which way round... I know they go on the top, just offering up for perspective

I can’t remember but I’d put some sealant around the door top bolts ( which I didn’t ) to stop them leaking from around the bolts ( which mine now do)

I've always done it flat side down, and the lip on the outer edge.

No that’s the obvious way. It’s a Land Rover. Whistle

I thought it was that way round.

Recent trip to Dunsfold LR and looked at their series doors.

Lip on inside facing down.

This is because on the outside you have 2 drain holes for the window channel.

If you have the lip on the outside it blocks them.

Careful not to overtighten the bolts

They are only held in with a sot weld.

Found out the hard way!
