Looking to put a similar pair on my truck, and also a wheel carrier - do you have any pictures of the modifications bpman?

Glad you like them Wombat,
Hope people remember that not all rear bumperettes will work with swing away wheel carriers. Some of the cheaper ones are made fro thinner steel, not galvanised and sit too close to rear cross member. The single pivot wheel carrier we sell need a modified bumperette. Have said before, will say again, when buying after market gear please ensure that they will work with any other after market items that you might be considering. Brendan |

Good point Brendan, I very nearly bought some and at the last minute realised I had a ladder that occupied the space. I thought a single one would look a bit odd.

Don't Safari Equip do a cross-member attached rear wheel carrier with an adapted bumperette to fit
Brendan didn't you mention this in a previous thread or have I got the wrong company, can't see it on their site! |

Cheers for the pictures - I think I will be looking at a different carrier for a DC - possibly the safari equip one? will need to see how (if?) they fit together....

Rear Bumperettes?
Cost, they vary a awful lot on price, starting at £45 (we will not sell those) upwards. Specification varies from 3 mm steel to 6mm steel some come galvanised and powdercoated some are just painted. Some are compatible with wheel carriers others have to be modified! YES I have that tshirt Click image to enlarge Modifiy them to fit wheel carrier tends to weaken them! Others work fine with wheel carriers WITHOUT modification Click image to enlarge Zag, you are right about the single pivot wheel carrier, they are made by Safari Equip and No they are not on their website (Nor ours at the moment ) Single pivot wheel carrier Click image to enlarge Without wheel on, the position of wheel can be set to low or high by swapping the carrier around Click image to enlarge To fit the single pivot wheel carrier and bumperettes the bumperettes need modifying which we can supply. We try to keep them in stock HTH Brendan Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
