I wired the DLR off the ignition with a relay. Simples.

It seems to be a voltage dependent switch so I assume it will detect engine running or not and then there is a timer relay built in as well as a headlight delay (just looking at the picture). Obviously it's not that hard to distinguish between the car in use and at rest (contact switched power galore) and also a timer relay is easy enough to include in s circuit around the headlight switch, but one of the pitches of this device is the ease of installation: plumbed right at the battery, where presumably the same convenience orientated end user has wired in his radio, amp, fan, coffe machine, etc. On top of that it seems to be failing quickly, so in that basket of AliExpress: nice idea cheaply executed |
