Started the sound proofing journey this week. 2mm silent coat + 6mm generic closed cell foam off eBay. I also ran some 4mm2 multicore to the rear left panel that will eventually be connected up to the battery, plus a 1mm2 for ignition/cut off switching. I also ran some extra speaker wire in case I add speakers to the top corners.

Conveniently it’s all covered by the headlining and some new Mud Stuff side panels. Annoyingly I had to trim ~5mm from the standard side panels in order to accommodate the silent coat + foam + mud stuff panels. ![]() Click image to enlarge I also replaced the fir tree securing rubbish with M6 aluminium rivnuts. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Only the rear door and load bay sides and roof completed so far, I’m resisting from driving it until it’s all done so I’m not (too) disappointed with the sound improvement. On to the rest of the car! |
