England 2005 Defender 110 Td5 XS CSW Cairns Blue
Stats from LandyWatch
I've just been analysing the info provided on the 39 trucks reported stolen on Landywatch since it was set up in Feb'11.

We've had more reports than 39 pinched but the posters don't elaborate enough to make it any use.

Of the 39 pinched, a bit of info.

- 35 were Defenders (or pre defner 90/110's)... ... (balance was 3 Disco 1's and a Series rebuild which was modelled on Def'ner)

- Of the Defenders, 25 were 90's, 10 were 110's

- 36% of the thefts were in the Humberside/Yorkshire area - most being in the recent epidemic in Sheffield.
- Defender age split...

3 x 19j // 19 x Tdi's // 10 x Td5's // 3 x Pumas

Security wise.... unfortunately a lot of the posters didn't specify what (if any) security they had in place but what we gathered from the 16 people that did.....

- The majority relied on the LR factory security.
- Of the additional security that was beaten....

1 x Aftermarket Alarm (Toad)
1 x Clutch claw pedal lock
1 x StopLok pro steering lock
1 x Disklok

We don't know if the mechanical security was genuinely beaten or if the trucks were towed/lifted whilst it remained in situ.

Link to the graphical summary of the responses is below....

Also, a link to the spreadsheet summary, which includes more info on each truck...

This spreadsheet/graphs etc.... should be updated promptly now as details are posted on Landywatch. We're now making a concerted effort to get posters to give us as much info on security measures as possible. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
