I have met him briefly at an RGS event Joe. Also spoken to him a couple of times on the phone.
Yes he is a quiet, pleasant, helpful guy. Brendan |

Ooh, is that the one with the natty eyeball vents in the roof?
1975 and it was four 101's including two with the ill-fated powered trailers. The trailers were to provide the extra carrying capacity for all of the fuel they needed, but they proved troublesome and I think they were both eventually abandoned. Kindle doesn't tend to work too well with photo laden books (too slow rendering, in my experience), though an ebook would still be nice for other tablets eg iPad.
Anybody read the 4x4 book, looks tempting, as do the Algiers books looks like nice photography. |

Any chance of some pics? I remember him and that Land Rover being featured in LRO years ago but, whilst it described the vents, there weren't any pictures that really showed them clearly.
ISTR he'd made a few other unusual mods too - something to do with the dashboard, maybe? I can't remember the details now. hi darren,
will take pictures at the weekend after i have had chance to tidy it up i'm sure tom would cry if he saw the state that it is in dash is from a disco 1, and it has got mid range and tweeter components in the headlining. i still have the eagle gps system but i have taken it out as it was a theft risk; and i still have the rear awning; rear door fold down tray, the cubby box which hinges up for the bottle jack stored underneath. |

Ah yeah, that was it. I'd be really interested to see some pics, thanks.
Given the number of scrap Discoverys around and the lengths people go to to upgrade Defenders, I'm surprised that the dash swap isn't more common.
