Defender Puma 110 Engine Swap & Automatic Transmission
Hello,

I’m planning to buy a Defender Puma 110 and swap the engine for either an M57 or an LS3, along with converting the transmission to automatic. I’ve done extensive research online and on YouTube, but I’d love to hear from your expertise as well.

What are the latest updates and best swap kits available? Also, aside from the parts included in the kit, what other parts or modifications would be necessary?

If anyone has a detailed roadmap or a complete list of required parts, I’d greatly appreciate it.

my M57 kit came from MW Machines. will be going back there for the next one. Cheers

My main priority in deciding between the two is cost, and from what I’ve read online, the M57 seems to have a better price, so I’m leaning towards that.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost you in total? And did you need any other parts or modifications beyond what came in the kit?

Prices on his website, just go through and pick and choose the bits you want.


Hoses are all straight fwd. Fuel ines straight fwd. Only really ecu, waiting, control boxes and mounts plus exhaust options. Cheers

By the way, did you go with an automatic gearbox for your M57 swap? If so, which one did you use, and do you have any advice on the conversion?

One has an mt82 on the back of a 184

The other 6hp28 on back of 232. Cheers
