Hia,
I have a P300e, let me try to answer your questions. 1. I am very happy with the performance, of-course it's not a "race car", but it feels snappy and quick, and i never have trouble over taking and it seems to always have that extra "kick" when required on the highway. 2. The batteries do run out, i haven't charged mine for quite a while (due to circumstances) and you tell the difference. There is (a bit) less acceleration, but weirdly, the transmission feels more smooth in the higher gears. I've also owned a D300 (in a Jaguar f-pace) and I like the P300e in the defender better. This is of-course highly subjective ![]() Have fun! |

Hello
We have an evoke with the P300e I assume the same pack etc? Its very nippy... surisingly so As for the battery it runs 'flat' according to the range but still seems able to drive in EV, it does use re-gen etc. When you lift off or brake. We are seeing amzing fuel effeciency. Its just a shame its only 34 - 38 mile range ![]() I guess the defender is a bit heavier but should be pretty good. what I don't understand is why the FF RR has the hybrid with a range of 60 miles? why is this not in the Defender? |

My wife has a P300e Evoque and it's beautifully smooth when running on battery only, however, once the battery runs out I find the engine very course. Unless you put it into sport mode I also think it's very slow to respond when overtaking. The fuel economy looks fantastic if you stick to short journeys and charge it up whenever you can but, on longer journeys you're hauling around a heavy battery which really kills the economy. It will be changed for a diesel when it's due for replacement.
I have a D300 in my 90 HT and it's smooth, quiet and very responsive and is always my choice for a longer journey. |

^^
We bought ours for the exact reason, lots of relatively short jouneys of less than 50 miles. I find it completely different to how you have mentioned? but then I drive like miss Daisy ![]() I can get 50mpg out of it with 'no charge' with battery we are seeing 130 mpg plus... Charging up on 6.5p per kw over night and then solar topping it up for 'free' its ace ![]() ![]() If it suits your needs then this small range is perfect, I'm lucky and have solar so its always (at the moment) on 35 miles of realatively free fuel. The Defender is heavier so assumin the same battery back maybe you get 25 miles in this weather? |

I understand the 300e in the defender is a 2.0 petrol but the 300e in the evoque and disco sport is a 1.5 petrol so not the same thing. Not driven either
