SWMBO has lost interest in camping hence it's time to sell my Wild Country Citadel 5 tent. This is a 5 person family tent built to last by quality manufacturers Terra Nova. I bought it used from the original buyer who had used it for one family holiday. I've probably been away with it 5-6 times so it's still in excellent condition. The sectional poles are spring loaded together and one had come apart before I bought it (see photo). It could probably be reattached but it never affected pitching or stability so I never got round to it. Other than that slight issue, the rest of the tent is in undamaged perfect condition.
I know roof tents are very popular and useful (I've had one myself) but a ground tent has its advantages. Although it takes longer to put up, once it's up, it's up. Much more convenient when staying a few days in one location. You put it up once and then drive off each day leaving your tent in place waiting for you for when you get back. No daily breaking and making camp. Arriving back in the dark - no problem, your tent is there for you. It's quicker to pitch and take down with a helper but still very do-able on your own (as I usually did). Before buying this tent I did a ton of research and it all pointed to this being one of the strongest family tents around and you can really feel it. Everything is overkill from the strength of the poles to the seams and the thickest tent floor I have seen. It is just brilliant. The design has a vertical front which makes for very easy and dry entry and exit and the giant living area is great for relaxing with family. Here are some user reviews:- http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/wild-country-citadel-5/1593 Or if you need more convincing, here is a video of the tent's 9 month trial in the peak district:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QMkXLBS7ds...AE5C847D84 Anyone unsure of the durability of a family tent will no doubt be reassured by the video of the testing. The Citadel 5 will just shrug off weather that would destroy lesser tents. Everything is present and in great condition. Additionally there's not one but two Citadel 5 footprints. My OCD affliction insisted I bought these but its most unlikely two would ever be necessary even if pitching onto particularly stony ground. There is also a highly desirable Wild Country Temperature Moderator - which is an additional external roof covering to keep the inside from getting too hot when camping in hotter climates. I'm also including an extra pair of poles to give the option of both side and front canopies being propped open at the same time. This is a large tent and being of substantial build it's weighty. It would need to be collected. I am in BD15 (West Yorkshire) or I could meet somewhere locally if convenient. I'm after £200 for everything which is a bargain price for high quality kit that is no longer available available on the market. If you have any questions please ask away. (will be posting more camping kit here shortly). ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |
