So what? If the owner wants to spend the money, wants to fit a supercharged LS3, and wants to spec it to the hilt, then so be it.
We’ve all got different views on what to do with our wagons and it doesn’t make anyone’s pointless. Some people would say owning a Defender in 2025 is pointless . . . Yet here we all are! It seems to accelerate, brake and handle much, much better than my old 2.4 110 so in no way can be pointless.
Just waiting for confirmation of my 42 million win on the lottery and I'll be ordering one off Ian....... |

Cheer up. You’re entitled to your opinion, but that last comment is completely unnecessary. |

Well I can honestly say I'm devastated.
Despite promises from SWMBO apparently we didn't win the Euromillions last night, so unfortunately I cannot send the bacs for the deposit. I will have to console myself with the excellent IRB tune I've enjoyed for 12 years or so. Update ! SWMBO has just said its a roll over on the Euromillions so when we win next week we can order one each! Its nice to dream of owning something so well engineered that would bring such smiles everyday - the more I think about it the more essential it becomes. Pointless - never! |

LS has been done to death now just like wooden floors but unfortunately TDV8 is a no go in a Defender chassis. |

well I have just seen it in the flesh at IRB and met the owner and quite frankly it is an outstanding vehicle finished to a very high standard, jealous you bet I am. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

If there's lots of LS motors been / being swapped into Defenders it must prove its a worthwhile swap? I've never seen a wooden floor in one though - do you have any photos? ![]() |

I saw this at the Drivetribe meet at the smallest cog and it is one very very nice motor - expertly built and looks stunning as well as fast as ####
I am interested in the comments of it being a waste of time and not being useable. I have had over 26 landrovers in the past 16 years and although i have not had an LS3 (yet) - the power is definately usable, it just depends on the size of the round things between your legs. I had a TD5 defender 90 back in 2011 when allard still made intercoolers and Alive were one of the first tuners to get a up to around 200bhp with LSD's all round, air suspension, HD ARB's from a 130 etc etc - I had it beating cars and doing things a defender should never do on tarmac...... so i imagine a LS3 could bring a whole new level of crazy! I am desperate to get an LS3 in my 130 and will do it as soon as funds permit! Defender 130 HCPU TD5 Series 2a 300tdi L663 5.0 V8 |
