Seems the only way to deal with JLR and dodgy engines is to get tough.

if thats what it takes to get them to understand thats the way to go. many years ago i did a similar thing at comet when a week old dryer stopped working and they said i have to go through the repair call out for guarantee claims. no its a week old and not working refund or replace. 10 mins and they saw it my way.
