One of my insider sources told me about this a few years back. According to him the soft top has since been cancelled, along with a short-bed crew-cab pickup based on the 130. l doubt they'd sell many.
The Evoque was offered with a soft top. When did you last see one? |

Yesterday on the M5 northbound.
The reason you don't see many is they are 'kept' vehicles. Many are older/private plate and very low mileage. |

My wife was very keen on one. When she finally saw one and had a test drive she went off the idea as the boot wasn't big enough for all her shopping..

Especially the Evoque convertible has an particular reputation. Has it not? Personally, I don't see the point. |

I could imagine a convertible 90 being more popular in slightly warmer climes than the UK (middle east?)..
I remember the early L663s had a fabric roof option (is it still available?) - I've never seen one, and always thought it was a bit of a brave move given the historical LR reliability at the time..  Click image to enlarge Somewhat related, but did anyone see the state of that homemade 'chopped-off' Defender Pick-up that Urban Automotive were trying to bring back to life!? Essentially a crazy dutch fella bought a hardtop 90 and took an angle grinder to the cab roof..
