Bonnet not unlocking
It seems we have the obligatory "bonnet not releasing" when trying to open, which i assume is due
to the bonnet cable stretching.. been a number of reports on the FB groups about the issue. I should
not complain to much, it managed to open up for 4 years and 3 months before it went,
however it was on Fraser Island/K"gari where we could have done with easier access to the
battery terminal points to connect up our tyre compressor when we finished on the sand..
Currently a two person job to open.. dealers tomorrow to get it "diagnosed" Whistle as they say.. yet another pommie bar steward down under

Yep, me too, but very early on in my car's case. The cable was diagnosed as stretched and was replaced. Been ok since then, although I don't open the bonnet often, usually only for a quick wipe around when washing the car. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

Just happened on my 2022MY P300. Booked in to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed. Annoying because the screen wash needs regular refills at this time of year.

Yes it is annoying, especially when it happens on a nearly new car.

It’s usually still possible to open the bonnet but you have to have someone pulling the lever, or you can wedge it up, while you give a sharp press down on the front of the bonnet. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

Yes I had the same problem a couple of months ago, got it replaced with a new cable under warranty, and made certain I lubricated it well myself

managed a quick appointment at our local LR service centre, by local in Oz I mean 1.5 hours and
155 km's one way, they reckoned it was the bonnet "stops" needed tightening as they had to
much play in them, lubricated a few bits and hey presto.. worked the first few times, but will
keep an eye on it.. yet another pommie bar steward down under

Went to the main dealer yesterday who confirmed that the cables needed replacing. But the parts are on back order. I was shown how to open the bonnet by having someone press down on the bonnet whilst someone else pulls the lever.

Apparently the replacement will take 4.5 hrs which, at main dealer rates, makes me happy to have the extended warranty!
