Fuel Sender - 2015 TDCi 2.2L Defender 90
Dear Forum,

I suspect an issue related to the fuel sender on my 2015 TDCi 2.2L Defender 90. Based on your recommendations, I initially checked the grounding points and bonding braid of the Defender, particularly around the transfer box and wheel arch. Everything appears clean and secure, so this hasn’t resolved the issue.

The problem seems to be related to incorrect readings from the fuel sender. My gauge consistently shows more fuel than is actually in the tank. The gauge is not stuck at the highest or lowest positions, it just does not drop anymore below the halfway mark.

Before delving deeper—such as removing the tank, fuel pump, or sender Sad —I would appreciate input from anyone with a Nanocom or similar diagnostic tool. Specifically:

• Could you share the values displayed by the Nanocom for various fuel levels (e.g., full tank, ¾, or ½)? For reference, my current fuel level is near ½, and I am reading a value of 1.6.
• Alternatively, if anyone could provide the resistance values measured on the grey connector under the passenger seat (LHD variant), it would be extremely helpful. Based on the Wiring Diagram (WD), these should correspond to pins 6, 7, and 13 of connector C0390. The ground is located on stud C1964.

Additionally, I understand that the instrument cluster processes signals differently compared to previous Defender generations. However, I assume the signal remains analog and should still be measurable.

Thank you for your insights and support! Very Happy

Regards,
Christophe
