I find that with the KBX grills that I don't use the fan as much, due to the forced air.

Slightly less likely to clog with snow whilst static. Maybe worse whilst driving! The snow covers as per the WOLFS seem a good idea albeit pricey.
I notice no increase in airflow having fitted the kbx. |

I've got these
![]() Click image to enlarge Wanted plain black ones but only had the carbon style ones. Heater is definitely improved, don't need the fan on to keep the front warm. Only cost a tenner a pair as well  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() Rebuilt 1996 black/white Defender 90 300 TDi |

Personally I went with Entreq for the snow cover and blanking plate. The quality is excellent and as the blank is anodized aluminium which has been powder coated and the snow cover is stainless steel again powder coated so you don't have to worry about corrosion. The snow cover gives no reduction in heater output and keeps the air box dry. You mount it on top of the OEM plastic grill with the SS screws supplied. The engine blank comes with SS screws and a rubber gasket, so no galvanic corrosion due to dissimilar metals.

I have the RDX wing top vents from bolt on bits in leeds, they have the meshed area to the side to still allow airflow but stop the snow

Pre puma, a vent scoop really improves the heater..i bought cheapo one from paddocks for my old 200. 300's and td5's can really benefit. also on a td5 removing the viscous fan or a rad muff will help the engine get to temp. |

What has improved my heater is the fact I've not cleaned my radiator since going on the Plain at the end of October
