Wiper failure
The wipers on my 2008 TDCi have stopped working on high speed. They are fine on normal speed and intermittent but when I select high speed they just stop at whatever position on the screen they are at. Any thoughts please, I assume it’s electrical rather than mechanical and an issue with the switch or a relay?

Rather than post a few links to past threads just do a search for wiper motor
....and you will come across links to some great posts on puma wiper motors and associated controls by blackwolf among others....
I seem to remember he touched on your possible issue in one of his posts when he covered the high speed wiper motor brush failure..
👍

Might be the stalk pins, you can easily tell by bridging the pins for the high speed.
If it works as it should when bridged, it’s the contacts gone, if it does possibly the motor.
I’m not sure if the park switch might be possible too.

It might be an idea to revamp, on mine I replaced everything but the motor as it was working as it should. No Guts, No Glory.

Almost certainly the high speed brush, which is a fraction of the size of the others, will have worn away. You will need to remove the wiper motor and either fit a new brush pack to it, if you can get one, or replace the whole motor.

You might want to read this linked thread and in particular the post that the link will land on: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic85429.html?start=19

Thanks. The thread was very helpful. Looks like I need to find some time to strip down the dashboard to get to the motor.

Following Blackwolf’s post I replaced the carbon brush plate and park switch the other week. There is enough room to get down the LHS of the dash to get the motor out, alas in my case the wheel boxes were seized which necessitated loosening the whole dash and pushing it backwards.
