I suspect it's not really bolt on enough, not like a steering wheel or a rear drawer and "my mechanics" everywhere not really interested in doing the conversion as general servicing and repairs to Defenders are so much more lucrative.

I’d be interested to see this, if it leads to a good repository for information from those who have made the leap.
My ‘86 currently has a non LR engine anyway in the form of a 4BD1t but I am considering changing to an M57 to make it more pleasant to drive and fuel efficient. |
