They're used on 130s because I don't think the standard LR alloy is up to the task load-wise - plus I doubt many utility companies want alloys on a 130
They're 6.5" wide rims so a tad narrower than normal alloys, but as long as you stick to 235/85s you'll be fine. I think they look superb on pretty much any Defender, but that's obviously a matter of opinion. Shouldn't affect resale value later on anyway. Oh and they are heavy. |

Thanks thats useful. These wheels are on a 90. I do like the look of them, just wondered about why.
Here's a pic of it. |

And a 110 just for completeness.
Click image to enlarge I'd have them over alloys anyway. Funnily enough, I saw a 130 today running freestyle alloys and 205 tyres...looked bloody terrible, not to mention not weight rated. :/ Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

I've just ordered a set of these along with some Cooper STT's. Any recommendations with regard to locking wheel-nuts?
Cheers. |

I chose the same combination for my puma (you can find some of it in the new photos in my gallery) and the off-road performance is totaly transformed. You made an excellent choice. Go for the 235/85-16 size. Mike. |

I took the Boosts off mine and fitted a set of steels recently.
