I had an RRS tdv8 3.6 and apparently I would see no difference between the two. But I was doing about 390 miles from full to light on in the RRS. And it didn't have gaps on the floor

90s and 110s have different sized tanks, so you can't compare range between the two!
A 90 has a 60 litre tank. In my old Td5 this would give ~340 miles before the light came on. A 110's tank is bigger - I think it's 70 litres? You should surely be getting more like 400 before the light comes on. My Td5 110 will go 450. Last edited by twopoint6khz on 28th Nov 2011 10:13am. Edited 1 time in total |

I wish I was getting around 400. I did think about a remap, apparently they work well. My only concern is my warranty.

Your 110 is heavier i know, but I get 330-340 out of my 90 Puma day in day out, regardless of driving on the motorway or just knocking about. One Life Live It, There Isn't Anything To Beat It, Even The Boss Agrees.

The engines are bench run before being fitted, but everything else will be tight and possibly the engine will be still be running in to a degree, I did notice a slight increase in mpg after about 3000 miles and at approx 6000 miles the whole vehicle seemed to have less rolling resistance. So i suppose you could expect a slight increase, how much though, well how long is a piece off string.
Have you read the thread on adding 2 stroke oil to your diesel, I was very sceptical but swear by it now. One Life Live It, There Isn't Anything To Beat It, Even The Boss Agrees. Under normal circumstances my Puma 110 DC (with 285/75 tyres, roofrack, and standard tune and exhaust) will do 360 miles from a brim full tank to light on. There is usually enough fuel in the tank when the light comes on to take it to 400 before filling, by which time it is running on fumes.
IIRC this works out about 28 or 29 mpg, and it is rare that I do journeys less that 15 miles so there is none of the damaging short trip/cold engine stuff. |

My average MPG over the last 12 months is 24.41. This is with the roof rack on and 285’s (the roof rack does come off for about 4 months a year). The average would be a bit more as because the MAF was faulty and it took me a while to figure it out, and at one time was down to 18mpg. I also used the tune which was about 2 or 3 mpg worse than the standard but haven’t used it for the last 4 months which has helped get the average up a bit. It is really strange I can do a trip (motorway at about 60-65mph) and get 28-29 mpg then do the same trip at the same speed a month later and it will come back a 24-25. I have no idea why it does this but I can tell you it is a little better when running on BP fuel. I don't race the gears and tend to change aound 2000-2500rpm and on the motorways stick to about 60-65mph

If there are significant head winds then I make a note on the entry and yes it does sometimes make a difference however not to how it behaves, I wish it was that simple. That said it does seem to be driving very well the last few months, I haven’t yet tried the 2 stroke thing yet but it seems to work for others. |
