2.2 EGR blanking question
Hi all

I am having a few EGR issues which has lead to limp mode. I expect it needs a clean.

What are peoples views on a BAS remap removal and blanking plate?

Thanks
Nick.

If you have a uk spec 2.2 you will also have a DPF . The EGR is used by the engine ECU when active and forced DPF regenerations take place. Therefore if you map out the EGR you also need to map out the DPF. Also if you map out the DPF you will need to remove it ( else it will block with soot) and replace with an empty DPF that passes the MOT visual inspection.

All this will equate to circa £2000 expenditure. A new Pierburg EGR would be circa £120-£150 . Fitting is fiddly but not a technically difficult diy job. A good indie who has done before should do it in 60-90 minutes.

Fantastic reply. Really appreciate it. Thanks. Simple answer is replace the EGR. Thank you.

That’s what I did on my 2.2. Very Happy if you look down at the visible side of your EGR you will see it’s made by pierburg and the part number. To see it properly put your phone down there and take a picture.

A pierburg valve is cheaper than a ford one (FOMOCO) and Much cheaper than a LR one. Yet they are exactly the same valve all made by pierburg. Noting with pierburg you get the two gaskets and with LR they are a separate item you have to buy.

You need to check your part number, however for my 2013 2.2 these were the pierburg numbers that were correct for mine - 7.03784.00.0, 7.03784.05.0, 7.03784.09.0, 7.03784.10.0, 7.03784.18.0, 7.03784.20.0, 7.03784.34.0

NB, of all places amazon have one for mine at £138.04 at present. And GSF on the bay of e have one for £125.70
