Have had a few transK9. Wouldn’t have anything else, the quality is exceptional and the are crash tested for piece of mind. That being said, the back of my old defender was made by me to maximise space while leaving half the load area free.

Buy a cheapo house crate, take it apart and make one to suit your sizes on top of your shelf. I went down same road 3 years ago. Cheers

I've had a couple of TransK9 cages in the back of Discoverys, exceptionally well made and crash tested. Not sure that you need a crash tested cage in the back of a L316 which of course lacks a crumple zone so maybe just go for a large puppy cage. Defender 90XS SW
