Defender TDCI 2.4 2011 Dipstick Query
Hello there,

I have a Defender TDCI 2.4 (2009) that suffered a burst coolant pipe, over heated and reulted in a seized engine.

I managed to source a slightly newer engine Defender TDCI 2.4 Mk7 (2011) Durator. However hit an unexpected issue.

The old engine seemed to have a dipstick tube that was slightly bigger, the insert onto the old engine is approx 10mm. However the new engine seems to have a smaller hole for the dipstick to fit, (7mm). So could not use old on new making me think the engine was a newer version.

Looking online the Mk7 engine requires a dipstick tube listed as part code LQN500050, (noted as having a 7mm O ring x 1.5mm in orange). Have hunted high and low for the part on line, however no one stocks this any more. Some say they have it but after ordering the part they acknowlege they dont have it, then refund. Ordered a couple for the ford transit 2.4 2011 engine MK7 (same engine) but all arrived at 10mm.

I could do with the dipstick tube and dipstick. Does anyone know where I can source one. Does not matter if its from a scrap yard. Or is there a way of doing a parts check on an engine number. Geting desperate now to find one to get the engine going.

Any help, would be greatly appeciated.
