Heater blower on all the time
Hello all! The blower motor is running all the time on my 2006 110 Td5, doesn’t matter where you put the air control lever (left side of instrument cluster) it is blowing - the two speed settings change it, position 1 speeds up a little and position 2 (all the way down) is full blow. Is this likely to be a fault with the switch itself within the control lever/cable assembly or the heater fan resistor in the heater box? Thanks for the help!

Hi, the heater blower is connected to the switch with two wires, one will be at a reduced voltage due to the resistor on the motor for low speed and the other full voltage for high speed. Your heater blower switch provides two routes to earth, depending on which output is earthed dictates how fast the blower blows. If your blower is blowing all the time I'd try to disconnect switch, if this stop it you're looking at a faulty switch as it is providing a route to earth when it shouldn't. If it still blows with the switch disconnected then you have an issue between the blower and the switch.
