Left wing top removal
1999 Td5 110 CSW
Is it possible to remove the left wing top without removing the entire outer wing? If so, how difficult is the job?

I have a badly dented wing top, but the rest of the wing is good. Not sure if it would be worth it to try to repair the panel or just replace it. I have new 3mm checker plate for the wing tops, but the dents are too long/wide/deep to install the checker plate.

Thanks in advance.

Although there are three pieces (top front and side) only the side is removable. The top and front are rivited together, so yes removable but only with a bunch of effort. (There is the inner plate too actually)

The whole wing is fairly easy to remove and you can buy complete replacements.

If you don't mind the chequer rash surely you could hammer the top plate up a little before fitting your chequer plate?

If you don’t like diamond plate wing tops, look for smooth aluminum plates. Much easier on your elbows and knees. Thumbs Up

Good luck
