I am currently on with this. We have sent an engine management system to one of our tuning tool manufacturers in Switzerland, who are currently on with cracking it. This ECU uses the Infineon TriCore processor, and will have to be remapped on the bench, like all other late land rover models. As soon as we've got communications, I'll get a car remapped, and will post results on here. |

So sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think you will find this has already been done and this was way back in late Sept - no results have been published as yet as the team doing it have been testing for the last few months perfecting the tune etc. Yet another first for BAS Indeed Pete has been sending on the info he has massed to some of the tuning tool developers helping them to provide a public solution available to the rest of the tuning industry that are of course waiting in anticipation for this to become available Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence. "TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you. |

Fekete, seems like Pete at BAS knocks his own nails in where as Gary from Alive has to get someone in Switzerland to do his nail knocking Could it be that some of the people Pete has sent the info to are now going to provide it back to Gary Back to the good old days matey Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. The truth is out there as they say but there are those that can and then the others Did not mean to highjack the thread, just pointing out the facts. Anyway, won't reply on this thread again matey-boy Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. I know I don't come on here that often, but I missed this one completely. So, if the information you've given us here is true, there should be loads of remapped 2.2 defenders out there by now, and the major tuning tool manufacturers will now have the protocols and info to allow others? Well, they haven't, and to my knowledge, nobody has yet cracked the TriCore processor used on the 2.2 Defender and new 2.2 Ford Transit.
If I cracked the 2.2 Defender, I'd be shouting it from the hills, and would publish any evidence I had to prove my accomplishment, in the form of dyno charts, and/or gps timing data. Saying I'd done it, and not publishing any data would in my opinion be quite foolish. As an example, look at the Evoque 2.2 Diesel remapping. It was claimed that this car was remapped 'first' by another well known tuning company, and yet there was not a shred of evidence to support this text only claim. I was fortunate to be handed an Evoque just days after its launch, and I remapped it to a very high standard within only a few hours. How did I achieve this? It is very much the same as the Freelander 2 software (EDC16 and EDC17), and I had tuned TriCore FL2 TD4/SD4 models before the Evoque launch, so that made it very easy for me to find my way around the software. I made sure I did some data logging, and took some photo's and video so I could mark the occasion with a Youtube video, which date stamped me doing this. If you're going to make claims of achievements, at least show some evidence to back them up. Jasperoony... We need to meet, as I really don't think you have any idea of how I operate. I expect that'll stop you from blowing so much smoke in one persons direction. I don't mind people making claims, but those claims need to be factually correct, so when I read such nonsense, it did make me chuckle! |

I don't think anyone has been able to offer remaps for the 2.2 yet - both Pete and Gary agree on that. John

Which is a shame as I have a credit card that's ready to enter the machines of either company as soon as they have it! |
