This looks interesting, be it quite costly!

Laughable when you consider that Land Rover’s ( in name only as they don’t underwrite the policy) Insurance via that dodgy broker called Wrisk tops out at £125k vehicle value the last time I looked.

Maybe someone should show this article to the Director that made a name for himself writing apps for IPhone, clearly no insurance experience required at that firm……….

I actually don’t believe the price is that horrific considering what these independent bespoke businesses are charging. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

A very, very silly vehicle and really quite cynical of Landrover.

It does however keep the parts supply chain running for a while longer which is a good thing for normal owners. I just hope that we don't all get tagged with the more-money-than-sense epithet.

I also hope that they are better assembled and better protected than first time round.

Over £200k for a preowned vehicle at least 8 years old which cost around £30k when new! Rolling with laughter

GBP200K ex VAT, that's 240K inc VAT which is AUD$500K (HALF A MILLION!!!!!) for that, which under the skin except for a few fancy bits and pieces is the same piece of ill engineered JLR/FMC garbage I have been driving around in for the last 11 years (but at the same being completely wonderful, which is the eternal Defender conundrum). That's 12 times what I paid for mine in 2013!!!!

I really don't believe a ZF auto and 5.0 V8 is worth that price tag but again like BrickBox said independent conversions and builds reach that price tag.

But again theres a market for almost anything that is limited run nowadays. 4.0 V8 Defender 90

As someone who used to be involved with the project, a lot of the OE parts are no longer available. JLR dont help by the big boy expectations they put onto small suppliers, who refuse to jump through the hoops they hold out.

Im surprised the cars are as cheap as they are to be honest.

I as well work within the automotive industry for a company known for bespoke work and considering the low volumes of this Defender and the customisation, the costs involved are high!

If the other Works editions are anything to go by, this should sell well.

Price aside, I'm loving the duo-tone interiors they are offering....

There’s obviously still a demand for the old style vehicle then.

Someone has got to *really* want one to pay that sort of money.

Perhaps JLR could consider developing a modern version of it to sell alongside the various models of Range Rovers and Discoveries they currently have in their line up. Very Happy

"New Classic Defender V8 Limited Edition"

I keep reading the title of this thread and being confused

Surely it should be titled "OLD Classic Defender V8 Limited Edition"

As the L663, New Defender will one day become a 'Classic' and will own this threads current title.
