Apparently full kit is worth $1300 AUD's, (about 850 GBP), I think that includes the Alpine stereo unit though.

I have to be honest. To me, that sort of über-technology just doesn't look right in a Defender, even a Puma and I'm a real mod-freak! Unless the heating works better too... I doubt the sound quality will be much good unless you double-soundproof and double-glaze everything and re-fit the entire sound system. Okay - so you could use headphones ![]() Even I would leave it to the Rangers etc. and spend the money on Bratwurst and Beer ![]() I would actually translate some German if you like (seriously) but I wouldn't want to encourage you ![]() Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

If you feel the need for one of these then get yourself a Disco!
Uber geekery goes against the grain of the Defender. Only my opinion but i am sticking with it, if it floats other peoples boats then sail away! Hey Guys,
It is not about the sound quality or the techno Aspect of this product. (SVX's have reasonable sound system stock standard) If I wanted tech I wouldn't have a defender, I would have stuck with my old D3. For me it will allow (if I go for it), the fitment of a "VMS" double din GPS off road mapping system into the dash - nice and neat. Nothing stuck to the windscreen or swing from the dash waiting to get in the way or fall off. That is the appeal. |

If I don't stick things to my windscreen it will vibrate so much it falls out
![]() At least for road-driving, I think it's safer to look at GPS displays etc. at windscreen/road-height than lower in the dash. I think on the dash is the lowest they should be. Old fart - I know ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Matt, It is a low end model but it does everything (MP3, CD, DVD etc) but doesn't have sat-nav. It also has the ability for about 4 different AV inputs and an input for a rear camera (links to reverse switch so auto switch over). The only down side is that when open it covers the hazard switch. I got mine from www.caraudiodirect.co.uk...... They tend to be good on selection and price- I have been using them for about 10 years now since my boy-racer days ![]() Glyn ![]() ![]() |

Cheers - quite like the idea of that. My phone is my Sat-Nav anyway and I'm quite happy with it. I can feel another idea for my Christmas present coming on ![]() ![]() ![]() p.s. No hazards here in Germany - far too well organised for that ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
