2.2 turbo actuator..
Just a bit messing again..see if anyone has any suggestions ..
My actuator has a 5 pin connector..
It's a very late 2014 reg truck..vin has it as a 2015 model year..
I've had a quick probe with a scope and have meaningful traces on pins 4 and 5.. they look to be a steady 5v on pin 5 and a pwm or duty cycle square wave on pin 4.
You can see in the attached picture the duty cycle of approx 50% (in red) with the ignition on..then when started I've laid the green trace alongside..it's approx 20% duty ..that's running at tick over...800rpm
Which rises as you press the acc ..
Not getting anything on pins 1, 2 , or 3 atm.. I'm fairly certain one will be a ground but would expect something on one of the other pins ..
I'll be back at it when I get a chance but if anyone knows what I should or can expect,shout out ๐Ÿ‘

Another try over a longer time base to get a better idea of what is going on with the turbo actuator..
Pins one and two which i didnt have any trace on yesterday are the wires to the actuator motor and in the photo below you can see the voltage in blue and current flow in red to that motor as the accelerator is pressed..
The green is the pwm signal on pin 4 that I described in the first post yesterday and represents the position of the actuator operating arm, but because of the longer time base it just looks like a solid trace between 0 and 5volts ..
I have put a black line in the green trace which is the negative duty cycle percentage of the green trace..
Feel like I'm getting there and starting to understand it a bit now ๐Ÿ‘

This is a section of the above trace..but taking a closer look.. the detail is remarkable..
The voltage is obviously a pwm supply to the motor..wasn't aware of that from the initial trace..
The detail that can be captured I'd something else๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

A little more investigating..
In the initial trace the current in red can be seen to go into a negative value , so that indicates a reversal of direction of the actuator motor..
My initial thought was that the fail safe function of the actuator ment a spring returned the motor which in turn induced a reverse flow of current..
I was told it was most likely H bridge driven and not as I suggested , so today I had a quick probe again on the two motor wires...and the actuator motor is indeed pulsed with a voltage on whichever wire is required depending on what direction the vanes are required to move..
As in the attached photo showing the two wires connected to the scope and the accelerator given a little press..
Each wire is pulsed with a voltage as required๐Ÿ‘
