Do you need to be able to tow it? If you don't and can handle a bigger machine then it'll be far cheaper. Sub 3t diggers fetch quite a premium because they're towable.
I had the opportunity for a reasonable condition 13t one for scrap money a few years ago. Just didn't need something that big everyday. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

I don’t really want the hassle of a bigger machine and having to move it or track it through the grounds

I wasn't suggesting necessarily a 13t machine but 5t machines aren't physically a huge size difference to a 2.7t machine but are more capable and probably cheaper at they don't fetch the towable premium. Ed

My own machine that i bought 5 years ago is an Hitachi ZX29U
zero tail swing and will pick and carry a 1 ton bag, great machine and has been priceless to me in my house build. would recommend one but not sure if you'd get one for 6k |

Sorted thanks. Bought a wee 3.3 ton Libra- that needs a little work, looks like a Kubota with a Kubota engine in it do the job for me.
