L663, Information about the turbo.( UPDATE)
Does anyone know the purpose or function of that screw or plug that the turbo has in its front section? I ask because I notice that it is slightly stained with oil or soot, and… I think I should consult….or not… !!
thanks in advance

I see a small residue, perhaps the origin of the previous one pushed by the wind from the fan? Coming out of this small rubber tube that connects this register with a kind of sensor... Can someone give me a clue as to what the hell that sensor is? It's very few kilometers for the love of God... I don't want to think about when this is 18 years old and 400,000 like my beloved D3.

It is not easy to tell from the pictures but could it be thread sealant for the fittings?

Can you wipe the pieces clean and see if it comes back?

You can find/but the workplace manual online. Id say this should be described in there.

update …It is premature, they have to do some tests, but the dealer is considering changing the turbo under warranty, well really are “the turbos” since there are 2 in cascade… I don’t know very well the scope and and neither the complexity of such an intervention…but I hope that, if at the end is necessary, it is a good decision and that they are at a sufficient technical level… I am a bit scared in a car so new! scary days!! Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

Mine has always had a very small leak from that joint. l've looked at three others and they all had the same trace of oil from there.

l've never done anything about it, l think allowing the dealer to take it apart will generate more issues.

That is very valuable information, meaning that they could put in a new turbo, with the risk that this entails, and the same thing would still happen… it makes me think then, thank you very much for your contribution.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

If I get around to it I may look at mine... D300 have the same turbos, right?
Also, on r/Newdefender I read that one of the two most common problems is something to do with the turbo cooling pipe (the other is DRLs manufactured during COVID)

I will be attentive! thank you very much! 👍🏼

The problem that the dealer poses is that the turbos are not dismantled, they are “simply” exchanged as a whole block…what a problem when the warranty is no longer available!! 🤬 Defender 110 SE I6 D250 23MY

Hi A1C6 What is this about drl’s manufactured in covid? I am about to send my car in for a new headlight because of failed drl, and have been told it will be chargeable. 9 months out of warranty. If anyone has had a goodwill gesture it would be good to know. Cheers 👍 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV
