Conversion from pickup to hardtop - DVLA
Hi all,
I have just finished converting my 09 Puma 90 pickup to a hardtop and am now getting it ready for mot and get it back on the road again.
Can anyone let me know how to notify the dvla of the change and get the log book / V5 updated?
Cheers
Phil

There shouldn't be anything to update I don't think. You could check what your V5 says now, but body config isn't usually on there. Although some people say they have number of seats listed.

In terms of modified vehicles and the regs

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/ra...d-vehicles

Body configuration is not part of it for a ladder chassis vehicle. The only thing you'd maybe want to do is tell your insurance, but again you'd only need to do this is they have it listed as a specific body config, if they don't, they won't know anyhow.

Conversion from pickup to hardtop
Hi all,
I've just finished converting my 09 Puma 90 pickup to a hardtop. I believe I need to contact the DVLA to get the V5C updated.
Currently it is listed under section D.3 Model as "defender 90 pick-up' and D.5 body type as 'pick-up'.
Can anyone who has a factory(2.4tdci ) 90 hardtop tell me what your V5c says in these sections?
Thanks
Phil

When I converted mine to a hardtop, I informed DVLA and under body type my V5 now says: LIGHT 4X4 UTILITY Thumbs Up '99 TD5 Defender 90
'52 Series 1 80"
'99 Caterham 7
