you wont find one there. you can take an ignition live feed there but would need to put it through a switch/relay that only contacts when engine is running, something like the oil pressure is a good source for the switch. no oil pressure (engine off) no live. if you connect from an ign live it will be live with ign on regardless of what the engine is doing. Cheers

See everyday is a school day!!
I’m getting a live straight from the battery and have got my fuse for live in line. This is for the relay portion of the wiring so when the switches are flicked engaging the relay to allow the power to pass through. So far I have installed the the fuses and the relay and routed all the wiring for direct to battery (even ground back to battery as I had the wire to do so and was passing conduit through anyway). So the final piece of the puzzle is literally where to hook this wire to power switches to engage relays but as mentioned a previous wire butcher has been at it. Like I say I would have hooked it up to the back of the cigar lighter but that’s perm live. Is it a case of adding an extra wire from something like the heater (which I know turns off when engine stops) adding in my extra fuse and jobs a goodun? Sorry if this is really basic but I’m just growing my knowledge but want to do it with a lot more informed information 😊 |

Do you want ign live or live when engine is running. the two are different. your post asks for live when engine is running. Cheers

Oh actually that is a good point. For best safety and so the battery doesn’t deplete what would you suggest?
