Hello, new to this site. I bought a 2008 Puma just over a year ago. Travelled 300 miles in first week then after a short journey it failed to start, Entry to the vehicle with the only remote control is OK. Normally starts with the key but this time it didn't. locked and unlocked twice and all OK.
Happened a couple of times over the next few months but has been OK since. Until last week. Now, I can open it with the fob, get a click from the solenoid on trying to start but it doesn't turn over. Had a tow start and starts easily but handbrake, ABS and traction control lights came on, wouldn't go out. turned engine off when moving, failed to start so bumped it again Replaced the starter motor, no joy. Reading various forums here, I don't know the EKA code, only have one key fob, guess it's not the original key as it fits the ignition but not the door. Any ideas please? I'm not that technical though. |

bad earth, loose battery connection, possibly loose relay, faulty ignition switch - all known Puma issues and double check battery regardless of age, ask me how I know!

As above, check battery clamps are tight too.
If you can check the battery, check the voltage it is at rest, and also see what it is showing with the engine running and with the alternator charging current and voltage. At rest you should see 12.2v minimum, with the engine running, with Alternator producing charging current and voltage 13.6v min. 12.6v at rest and 14.5v alternator running is good. Battery can be on its way out or Alt, but most likely is loose or poor ground(s). It’s best to check the grounds regardless. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |
