United Kingdom 2006 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Tonga Green
Changing a French registered car to Greek
Hi,
I currently Have a 1999 TD5 CSW which is registered in France. However it lives in Greece, therefore it has to come back every two years currently.
I was just wondering if anyone had registered a defender in Greece and could let me know the procedure/ if it is even possible.
Or if there are any better alternatives as the car is currently registered in my Cousins name in France and he wants out. Laughing
Meaning I am taking it on and would have to register it in the UK and bring it back every year.

lt seems there is a procedure to do this. You do have to be resident in Greece and the vehicle needs to be inspected but it doesn't look to be particularly difficult.
You may also have to pay import tax, and it doesn't say how much that costs. lt may depend on the vehicle.

Edit no import tax should be payable. re the post below.

There should be no import tax, as both France and Greece are in EU. But there could be a registration tax, and the way the EU is going, and a Td5 being Euro3, the registration tax might be as high as the value of the vehicle. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
