Manufacturers are facing an uphill battle with the ICE bans looming and already losing money trying to sell government's electric mandates. And many have lost so much money they are forced to collaborate with the same Chinese manufacturers that are in turn flooding Western economies with their EV's made by using the many coal mines they can operate, and are still opening to provide cheap power for their manufacturing processes. The US has proved that if you build a vehicle with a big petrol engine, those with deep pockets will buy it, so why not JLR. Unfortunately this will also mean that the every man's choice will be further limited because JLR would rather sell Halo products to the rich. The question still not discussed / answered is how long will the D90 last as it can't be made into a hybrid to act as a stop gap. So to answer your question, 'Yes, maybe, probably, very likely if there's a profit to be made from others that are not us. |
