Series Landy’s and maybe early 110’s and military ones used to have a spare wheel fitted to the bonnet, do I can’t see why not, so long as it’s secure.

That's what I thought, but just waiting to see if anyone has had any problems before ordering the aluminium section to build the locating frame as it will be around £50

Series landrovers also had them on the front bumper recessed into the grill (like Series can). First point of impact, which would never happen of course.

If you have a 3-door 110, as per the photo posted by MarkB, the British Army used to have hatches on either side (seen under the spare wheel in the photo below), that could fit a standard british military black plastic jerry can. It was accessible from the outside, but pinched some dead space from under the bench seat. Works very well but clearly pointless if you have a 90 or a 110 SW.

I have just got myself one of the jerry can holders well made simple and effective though I intend to fit mine on cargo tracking on my van sides. Pretty sure you can mount them the same as Eva Zubecks on the side like a wimik/wolf 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day Build thread:https://www.defender2.net/forum/post1024784.html#1024784 |

Have ordered a front loading jerrycan holder to fit into the same place. I have a box above blocking dropping a jerry can in, but the front loader will sort that. It is to hold a lifesaver jerry can.

safari equip made a bonnet basket frame for a 20L jerrycan for me; i have the wheel carrier reinforces on the underside. works well. 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent |
