Is it safe/recommended to remove seat springs?
As part of my yearly "I hate myself" activities, I decided to do a 2nd row corrosion treatment on my Puma 110.

As part of this self-destruction exercise, I decided to remove the seats and treat some rusting parts there too.

I was considering not putting back the seat springs when rebuilding the seats (laziness):

Is this something that would make that whole thing unsafe? I guess I'll have to deal with more 'weight' when folding the seats.

The springs are only fitted to make lifting the seats easier and there should be no safety implications if they are omitted. You may find that the seats rattle (or rattle more) without them.
