Differences Between UK & German Land Rover Warranty
The following differences between UK & German Land Rover warranty are noted:

UK: You receive a fully comprehensive Manufacturer Warranty and Roadside Assistance for unlimited mileage/3 years after purchasing your Land Rover.

Germany: For the first five years (or 150,000 km - whichever comes first)* after purchasing your Land Rover, you will benefit from all the benefits of a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty.
Roadside assistance for the first three years from initial registration.

Should Land Rover not be offering a five year warranty for the UK as well?

We are mostly definitely still in Europe. We might not be part of the EU currently, but that is something completely different.

That aside, I would think warranties are likely country specific. As the U.K. only left the EU a short while ago and at no point has JLR offered the German warranty for the U.K.

Might be interesting to check some other EU countries like Croatia or Greece and see if they have the same as Germany. Then you’ll know if it is an EU thing or not.

Ultimately you’ll probably need to contact JLR and ask them. But they may not give you an answer.

Wasn’t aware of the 5 year warranty in Europe. Disappointing that they can’t offer U.K. customers the same. Probably some JLR accountant worked out the liability and they balked at the numbers.

A number of years ago, Porsche were only offering a 2 year warranty in the U.K. (3 in Europe) but they eventually aligned things.

When JLR offer a 10 year warranty like Toyota, then we’ll know they’ve cracked their reliability issues. Not holding my breath…

Nothing to do with the EU

Australia and New Zealand were the first to get a 5 year warranty back in 2021 and theirs is unlimited mileage. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

My Defender will be one year old next week. It is a 23.5 MJ. I have a 3 year guarantee. The 5 year guarantee came shortly after I bought it. 23.5MY Defender 110 D250 HSE

Here, in Spain, all LR vehicles registered from May 2023 have a 5-year warranty or 150,000 km. The previous ones had a 3-year warranty with unlimited kilometers.😉

That’s a pretty valuable benefit given it costs about £1000 pounds a year to extend the warranty.

I wonder what average annual mileage is in EU countries vs the U.K. 150 thousand K over 5 years is only 18,000 miles a year. I’d have thought a good number of Land Rover products exceed this.

Although there might be a minimum by law (for each country) manufacturers will carefully consider all factors when setting their warranty period with the aim to give as little warranty as they can get away with.

They obviously think they can get away giving less warranty in the UK, maybe because other manufacturers do the same or maybe UK buyers don't find it important enough. Or maybe they they give other incentives

It may only be 3 years in the UK but at least it’s unlimited mileage.

Extending the warranty is all well and good and cheaper than a costly repair, but they only cover until 100k miles and then you’re into other providers I guess.

In the UK it may be unlimited mileage
Being limited to 150,000 km equates to being limited to 93,206 miles (to the nearest mile).
So in 3 years how many people do an average of over 31,069 miles per year to be worse off in the UK?
