A textured nylon, abs or hdpe possibly?
I would tend to lean towards hdpe as that comes in colours, but so can nylon but abs typically is normally black. HDPE is cheaper, I’d imagine more likely to be used outdoors and is quite weather resistant. ABS is more impact resistant. There is plastic fencing posts that have been produced from recycled material more recently, I’d imagine they are similar materials to that. Last edited by custom90 on 21st Jul 2024 6:33pm. Yeah you're correct, after some investigation it seems to be HDPE.
Found a place in Didcot and one in North Wales that make it, so pinged some emails off. Cheers |

I tried to find a photo of what me and my dad did a couple of years ago now. He had this patio set, that was wood, and with some sort of Iron frame. They must have had it 20 years, Anyway the table rotted to bits, a long with two chairs. Only one large chair just say survived. Anyway, me and my dad had rebuilt a small piece of fence, for under £50. My dad said i wonder if we could use the fence wood for the table and chairs, So we did. Came just under £80. All we did was replicate the size and holes, and then sand the roughness right off. Put some fancy bolts and washers in, and a couple of pieces of thread bar, for support. We rebuilt the full patio set better than it was, when they 1st bought it. The table we made a little longer, than it was originally. So that's an option for you Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
