France CT (MOT) 1972 S3 rear fog light
Hi All, bit of a long shot, but I am prepping my UK registered 1972 Series 3 for its first Controle Technique for registration in France and well it doesn't have a rear fog light. I could fit one of course but question is, does anyone know for that year does it need one?

It obviously passed many years of MOT, but the Brits are a bit more respectful for heritage than the French maybe .

Google says a fog light became mandatory on vehicles manufactured after 1st October 1979.

It would be easy enough to fit one using a bracket hanging off one of the grab handle bolt holes. It’s a bit like retro fitting indicators to Series 1’s without drilling any body panels.

Yes I agree easy enough to fit, just might not have enough time before the test. I suppose I could chance it and do a retest

Although I would fit them, I don't think I would ever use them. I recall during my driving exam (a long time ago) I learned that visibility needs to be less than 50m (150ft) before you are allowed to use the rear fog lights. I don't think would be driving my series (or any other car) in fog with less than 50m visibility that is seriously thick fog!
